Watch: ‘Truly Grateful’ Tom Brady Announces Retirement

“I know the process was pretty important last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just hit the record and let you know first. I won’t be long-winded, you’ll only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I ran out of mine last year.”

The great NFL player briefly retired after last season, only to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for another season.

Brady has won three NFL MVP awards, was named to the All-Pro First Team three times, and was selected to the Pro Bowl 15 times.

Brady and model Gisele Bündchen finalized their divorce last fall during Bucs season. Thus ended a 13-year marriage between two superstars who respectively reached the heights of football and fashion.

It was announced last year that when Brady retires from acting, he will join Fox Sports as a television analyst in a 10-year, $375 million contract, AP reported.
