US Vice President Mike Pence discovered classified documents in a home in Indiana.

Deputy President Mike Pence on Tuesday told Congress that on Jan. 16 at his home in Carmel, Indiana, he discovered documents marked secretly when he was vice president.

After classified documents relating to President Biden’s tenure as Vice President were discovered at the Penn Biden Center and Wilmington, Delaware, the Vice President’s team raided Pence’s home in Indiana and the office of the Political defense of Advancing American Freedom.

WHITE HOUSE SHADES NO NEW LIGHT ON BIDEN SCANDAL

On January 18, Pence briefed the National Archives on a small number of potentially classified documents found in two small boxes, his team said. Two more boxes contained copies of the vice president’s papers. The National Archives then briefed the FBI following standard procedure.

Pence’s attorney, Greg Jacob, wrote on Jan. 18 to Acting Director Kate Dillon McClure of the National Archives and Records Administration’s White House Communications Department to inform her of the documents “containing classified labels.”

According to Pence’s team, after the documents with secret markings were discovered, they were immediately placed in a safe.

The documents were collected by the FBI at Pence’s home in Carmel, Indiana on Thursday evening, January 19th. Pence was in Washington D.C. for the annual March for Life when the FBI seized the documents.

Pence’s team said that while the documents are classified, the Justice Department or the agency that issues the documents will need to make the final decision on whether the documents are classified or not.

According to Pence’s attorney Greg Jacob in a January 22 letter to COO William “Jay” Bosanco of the National Archives and Records Administration, the Justice Department departed from its standard procedures it had with Biden when it required direct possession of the documents as of January 19.

Other documents that were not identified as potentially classified documents were flown from Indiana to the National Archives in Washington, DC.

No classified documents were found in Pence’s Advancing American Freedom office.
