Tony Romo ‘motivated to make a difference’ at PGA Champions event

IRVING (CBSTexasNews) – Tony Romo takes his golf clubs back for a good reason.

He returns to compete in the PGA TOUR Champions Invited Celebrity Classic hosted by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts.

“I look forward to playing the Invited Celebrity Classic in Las Colinas again this year. I like the competition and the crowd of people. The impact of this event on our community and charities is also a great motivation,” Romo said. .

Romo is a seasoned amateur golfer who has played in several PGA TOUR events as a sponsor. He is also a three-time winner of the American Century Championship (2018-19, 2022) at Lake Tahoe.

Other sports celebrities join the former Dallas cowboy. World Golf Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam and recently retired Major League Baseball star Albert Pujols will play in a tournament at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving.

It runs from April 21-23 and features 78 PGA TOUR Champions players and 40 celebrities who will compete in individual events with a prize pool of $2.5 million.

Tickets to the stadium are free for all three days of the tournament.
