The White House said Biden’s Delaware home was used for official purposes but now says it’s “private.”

The White House has previously said that President Biden works while traveling to his home in Wilmington, Delaware, but now claims the residence is “private” amid a series of classified documents found at the address.

During a press briefing at the White House on February 25, 2022, former press secretary Jen Psaki stated that Biden could do the job from anywhere.

“I note that while every president can work from anywhere because presidential offices are so equipped, he travels to Delaware for a family member’s memorial service. And he will – that’s why he’s going there this year. weekend,” said Psaki.

“Yes, the president has the ability to make a secure call from anywhere,” she added.

But on Monday, the White House legal counsel’s office said Biden’s Wilmington residence was private. The office issued a statement explaining why there are no visitation logs at the Biden residence in Wilmington.

“Like every president in decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal,” the statement said.

Notably, Biden has previously held legislative meetings in the Wilmington House, such as one meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin, DW.V.

In addition to classified documents discovered in November in Biden’s personal office at the Pennsylvania Biden Center, a number of classified Obama-era documents were discovered last week in the garage of a Wilmington home.

The discovery was made during a search of Biden’s Wilmington residence for classified documents.

“Because I have a security clearance, I went to Wilmington on Thursday evening to help hand over the document found by the President’s personal lawyer on Wednesday to the Department of Justice. While I was handing it over to the Justice Department officials accompanying me, five additional pages with classification marks were found among the materials with it, for a total of six pages. Justice Department officials who were with me immediately took possession of them,” White House Special Counsel Richard Sauber said in a statement Saturday.

Biden was asked Thursday about the classified documents and told Fox News they were in a locked garage.

“Secret documents next to your Corvette? What were you thinking about? Fox News asked Biden.

“I will have the opportunity to talk about all this, God willing, it will be soon. But I said earlier this week – and by the way, my Corvette is in a locked garage – it’s not exactly sitting on the street, ”Biden replied.

“So the documents were in the locked garage?” Fox News asked.
