Texas State Trooper hit by motorist, seriously injured in crash

On Tuesday, a Texas state trooper was seriously injured after a motorist hit him while investigating an accident.

Texas Department of Public Safety, North Texas Region, wrote on Tuesday in the afternoon when soldier Curtis Putz was investigating an accident on Interstate 45 in Navarro County when he was hit by a car.

According to a family member who spoke to NBC 5, Putz was getting his ice boots out of his car when he was hit and pinned under the car.

DPS said that Putz was taken to the hospital in Dallas where he was in critical condition.

“Please keep him and his family in your prayers,” DPS tweeted.

At the time the soldier was shot down, a winter storm warning was issued in North Texas due to sleet and freezing rain, causing road conditions in the area to deteriorate.
