Tarrant County Jail Corporal Dies in Arlington Car Crash

On Monday morning, a motorcade of police escorted the body of a Tarrant County prison corporal from the hospital to the funeral home.

Corporal Aron Iseman, 34, died in a car accident early Friday morning while driving home from a night shift. Investigators are still trying to determine why he lost control and crashed. Investigators say he was only a few miles from home when his car crashed at 287.

It was the usual route that Natalie Perez’s husband took home after a night shift at the Tarrant County Jail.

Along Highway 287 in Arlington, debris marks the crash site, which is only five miles from the corporal’s home, where his wife was waiting for him.

A widow, Natalie is 17 weeks pregnant and mourning the loss of her husband and future father of their little boy.

In 2018, Aron was hired as an arrest officer by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. He also served in the military and did two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq.

“He was my best friend. He was my ride or death. My protector. By my saving grace,” Natalie said. “He will never know how much I needed him.”

Just after 7 a.m. Friday, February 24, Arlington police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 287 near Little Road.

Aron had just finished his shift at the Tarrant County Jail where he worked in the reservations department.

Witnesses told police that Aaron was driving in the left lane south when his car suddenly veered onto the highway, went off the road, and then overturned several times.

An investigation into the cause of the accident, according to the sheriff’s office, is still ongoing.

“I want to remember him the way he left the house: he joked, laughed, giggled and remained him,” Natalie said.

On Monday, a procession of 70 law enforcement vehicles carried Aron’s body from the medical examiner’s office to the Arlington Funeral Home.

Natalie also works for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. She and Aaron met there four years ago.

“He was such a nice person. He had so much to give. So selfless,” she said. “Words can’t express how amazing this man is.”

2023 was supposed to be a year of new beginnings and big dreams with Aaron. Now Natalie is forced to navigate this unknown without him.

“Our human side. Yes, I want to hug him. But I can feel it,” she said. “I know he’s telling me, ‘I got you, baby. Everything will be fine”. It gives me peace inside.”

Natalie says her son will be named Aaron Ross Iceman Jr.

Funeral arrangements are still in progress. Natalie would like to thank the sheriff’s office and other agencies for their support, as well as JPS Hospital.v
