South Carolina wife and mother shot dead in front of young children in Kroger’s parking lot

A South Carolina woman was gunned down in a grocery store parking lot after an argument with a stranger on Valentine’s Day.

Tyler Boris said his wife, Alexandria Kress Boris, 26, was loading groceries into her car at a Kroger store in Irmo, South Carolina when she got into an argument with a woman she didn’t know, FOX 57 Columbia reported. .

After the argument ended, the stranger, whom Irmo police identified as 23-year-old Christina Harrison, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Boris in the back. The couple’s children, a 2-year-old and an infant, were in the car when she was shot.

The Irmo police department reported that the incident occurred around 16:00 on Tuesday. Soon the police arrived at the scene and pronounced Boris dead.

After talking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage, Irmo police said investigators learned the two women did not know each other and had engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting.

It is not clear what led to the argument or what the two women were arguing about.

“Unfortunately, this is a situation where anger flared up and someone let the anger get the best of them. One rash decision impacted the lives of two families and countless others who witnessed this tragic event.” Police Chief Irmo Bobby Dale posted this on Facebook. “Nonsense is the only word I can think of to describe what happened today.”

Harrison initially fled the parking lot, but called to turn herself in around 5:30 p.m. On Tuesday evening, she was sent to the Lexington County Detention Center.

Prison records show Harrison being charged with murder, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The New York Post reported that Harrison was due to appear in court on Wednesday, but her private lawyer declined to hear.

Tyler said his wife died just six days after her younger brother Brandon died from a gunshot wound.

He told local news outlets that Alexandria, who worked as a beautician and went to nursing school, was “the best wife you could ask for” and “a great mother.”
