Missing Columbus girls found safe, Amber Alert canceled
An Amber Alert, which was issued on Sunday, is no longer in effect as two young girls who were believed to have been abducted in Georgia have been found safe. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that an 11-year-old and a 4-year-old were taken from a Burger King located at 7301 Veterans Parkway in Muscogee County.
However, on Monday, the Columbus Police announced that the alert had been called off as both girls were found safe in South Georgia at approximately 11:30 a.m. No information was provided regarding whether anyone was taken into custody. The investigation into the abduction of the girls is ongoing, and authorities have mentioned that charges could still be filed.
