Pregnant dog found starving in cage needs help to reunite with Marine who saved her

Paws of War is urgently working with a US Marine to help bring two dogs that have been deliberately starved to the US. The dogs will live their lives with the marine who found them and took care of them. Transporting dogs to the US is a task they are experienced with, but it is expensive and they cannot handle it alone.
“This is where we need financial support from the community to make this happen,” says Derek Cartwright, Paws of War veteran and coordinator. “We believe that people will want to support this mission and come together so that Captain Vivaldi will be reunited with Cardi and Ivar in April.”
Captain Vivaldi was in an unknown area of Asia when she came across a pregnant dog in poor condition, which was in a cage and was deliberately starving. The temperature was over 100 degrees and the conditions were harsh. This is an area where dogs are considered disposable and this dog has been left to fend for itself. When Captain Vivaldi entered her life, she was thin, hungry, thirsty and in need of help.
She adopted the dog, whom she named Cardi, and helped nurse her back to health. Along the way they became friends and the day came when Cardi gave birth to a puppy named Ivar. Due to a difficult birth, he could not use his hind legs for some time, but those who were in the platoon rushed to help the puppy. He was able to gain physical strength and his condition improved. Today he can run with his mother, and the two of them are partners of Captain Vivaldi.
After being ordered to stop her overseas assignment, Captain Vivaldi is desperate to get the two dogs back with her to the US. She turned to Paws of War to help make this a reality because they had helped many people in the military get the dogs they cared for back to health and bondage.
“We all bonded and became a family. Cardi and Ivar helped me through a difficult operation and I can’t leave them in this harsh place,” says Captain Vivaldi. “It would not be safe to leave the dogs behind. They will surely die. In addition, we became friends and love each other very much. I can’t imagine them not living with me for the rest of their lives.”
Paws of War is hardened when it comes to completing missions like this, but they are expensive and need people in the community to step in and help make it happen. Relocation costs include healthcare costs, airfare, paperwork, and additional fees. To make a donation to help the cause, visit the website at:
