Police say an Arlington man is killed by a suspected robber as he drives into his driveway.

When the police arrived at the house, they found the wounded, 36-year-old man unconscious in the SUV. According to police, the man died at the scene.

ARLINGTON, Texas. A man from Arlington was fatally shot when he drove into a driveway where a burglary suspect was hiding, police said.

The shooting was reported around 5:15 a.m. in the 1400 block of Prentice Street, near South Collins Street and Interstate 20.

When the police arrived at the house, they found the wounded, 36-year-old man unconscious in the SUV. According to police, the man died at the scene.

When detectives were investigating the shooting, they learned that the two suspects were attempting to break into cars parked next door as the victim pulled up to her home.

One of the suspects tried to hide in the entrance of the victim. When the victim pulled up to the driveway, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots at him, killing him, police said.

The suspects then fled the area east along Prentice Street.

The victim’s name has not been released. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify him as soon as his next of kin are identified.

No one has been arrested and the police are still trying to identify the suspects.
