Police say a 46-year-old man was electrocuted while landscaping in Southlake.

SOUTHLAKE, Texas. A 46-year-old man was electrocuted while trimming trees in Southlake, the police department said.

Shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, Southlake firefighters and police were called to a home on the 900 block of West Dove Road.

When first responders arrived, police said they found an unconscious man suspended from a tree by a belt.

Witnesses told officers that the man was a landscaping worker who was trimming trees on the property when he accidentally stumbled upon a live electrical wire.

Southlake firefighters quickly reached the victim and assessed his condition, but he had already died. The firemen then removed him from the tree.

Southlake Police Department said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. The name of the victim will be made public after notification of the next of kin.
