Police arrest two people in connection with car theft

LEE COUNTY, Florida. The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested two people in connection with the theft of a car.

Cape Coral Police were called to the scene in connection with the intrusion on Southeast 9th Boulevard.

Police arrived at the scene and identified the vehicle as possibly stolen. The car was reportedly stolen from 958 Boulevard Country Club.

The officer confirmed that the car had been stolen.

After a detailed investigation, detectives confirmed that Bartholomew Allen Weaver and Keith James Zinkand were walking from a nearby store and saw the car was unlocked and running.

Both got into a car and drove to a liquor store in Fort Myers and then tried to sell and pawn thousands of dollars.

Detectives seized the vehicle and items after pawnshops refused to buy some of the equipment.

Weaver and Zinkand were taken to Lee County Jail and charged with grand car theft.
