Pete Buttigieg provoked people who criticized his bad shoes during a visit to Ohio

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg responds to criticism he received for his choice of footwear during his visit to East Palestine, Ohio.

Buttigieg visited the city of Ohio two weeks ago to see the aftermath of a horrific train derailment that released toxic chemicals that endangered the health of local residents.

During his visit, he was heavily criticized on Twitter for wearing nice shoes to inspect a messy workplace.

Now, Buttigieg is responding to criticism for his seemingly aloof attitude during the visit, and needless to say, he’s not too happy with the criticism he’s receiving.

According to CNN, Buttigieg accused Trump and conservative media pundits such as Tucker Carlson of feigning sympathy for East Palestinians for political influence.

Should Buttigieg be impeached for his response to the Ohio disaster?

“It’s great to see some of these people — the former president, these Fox hosts — who are literally lifelong members of the East Coast elite, whose top economic policy priority has always been tax cuts for the rich, and who don’t know how to handle TJ Maxx. even if their lives depend on it to present themselves as if they sincerely care about the forgotten center of the country,” the transport minister told CNN. “Do you think Tucker Carlson knows the difference between TJ Maxx and Kohl’s?”

Buttigieg also said that Trump’s visit the day before his visit was “a bit maddening” and reiterated the debunked claim that Trump’s deregulation of the railroads had led to disaster in East Palestine.

He then responded to criticism of his shoes by saying, “Who cares what kind of shoes I wore when I was there to draw attention to an agenda that will save lives on our railroads?”

Obviously, Buttigieg does not understand where the criticism is coming from. It’s not about the wrong choice of shoes, but about his whole attitude towards disaster.

After the train crash, he had little concern for the people of East Palestine. It took him a week to even mention the situation in East Palestine, and three weeks to visit it.

Of course, his visit took place only after Donald Trump himself visited the city and distributed water to the residents.

Instead of taking responsibility and trying to fix the problem, Buttigieg and the Biden administration went after Trump and blamed him for the disaster, despite the fact that it happened in front of their eyes.

The dress shoes only confirm what we already knew: Buttigieg has no connection to East Palestine. Trump may be an East Coast billionaire, but at least he knew to wear boots to work.
