FRISCO, TX (March 3, 2023) – North Texas SC has signed El Paso Locomotive Academy’s Diego Garcia Murillo to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract. According to the team’s policy, additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are very excited about Diego’s arrival,” said North Texas SC head coach Javier Cano. “He can give us a different flow on the field. He is a great addition to the group due to his abilities.”

Garcia, 16, joined North Texas SC on a two-year contract with a club option for the 2025 season. He joined the El Paso Locomotive Academy in 2019. Garcia made his professional debut for the USL Championship on October 17, 2021 against LA Galaxy II when he came on as a substitute in a game in ’80.th minute. “Diego[Garcia]is a talented player and has experience,” North Texas SC general manager Matt Denny said. “We have a saying, ‘If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.’ He is a young player who can reach the next level here at the club.”
