Grocery stores are gearing up for an influx of North Texas residents getting what they need this week before possible winter weather hits.

Kroger said they were ready for the hype.

On Sunday, people took the day off to prepare for the winter weather.

Stores are making sure they are fully stocked before the winter mix is ​​possible.

At Rooster Home and Hardware, heaters were in high demand, along with pipe covers and plant covers.

“We came to prepare for the weather. We’ve heard that there can be ice and frost, so we’re taking a few things to prepare the house the best we can,” buyer Rich Rusch said. “Some tubes to insulate our pipes, open pipes in the yard.”

Ice is certainly a possibility for much of North Texas in the next few days.
