North Texas airports and airlines face delays and cancellations due to FAA system failure

The Federal Aviation Administration suspended all domestic flights across the United States on Wednesday morning due to a computer system glitch, and travelers in North Texas are feeling the effects.

Shortly before 7 a.m., the agency ordered airlines to suspend all domestic flights for the next few hours while officials worked to fix the system.

The FAA said these notifications alert flight personnel to abnormal conditions in the national airspace system.

At Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, 43 flights were delayed and 12 flights cancelled.

Federal Aviation Administration announced on twitter that the nationwide ground stop was canceled and normal air traffic operations gradually resumed shortly before 8:00 a.m. after the “Air Mission Notification” system failed.
