New footage emerges from the scandal that rocked the Auckland Police Department

The new images were released Wednesday in the wake of the scandal that rocked the Oakland Police Department.

A police sergeant is accused of crashing into a car in San Francisco and then driving away.

The accident was part of a report that said Chief LeRonn Armstrong mishandled two investigations and he is now on administrative leave.

Surveillance video appears to have captured the incident. It shows the moments when the departmental SUV crashed into a parked white Mercedes in San Francisco, stopped for about four to five seconds, and then drove away.

Inside were an Oakland police sergeant and a police officer he met with.

The Mercedes was badly damaged and the report states that a year later, the same police sergeant allegedly fired his weapon in the service elevator of the police station.

This report ultimately stated that the OPD was unable to hold the officer accountable.

Then last week the mayor of Oakland decided to put Armstrong on administrative leave.

“I should be chief of police, I should stay in my post and I did nothing wrong,” he said on Monday, adding that he deserved immediate reinstatement.

It is still unclear how long the investigation will take to determine if the chief can be reinstated and when.

As for the police sergeant allegedly driving the crash, there is still no word on what happened to him, if anything at all.
