McCarthy launches Protect the House 2024 in a bid to expand the GOP majority.

EXCLUSIVE – As he works to secure and increase his slim GOP majority in the House of Representatives next year, Speaker Kevin McCarthy has set up a new joint fundraising committee.

The Protect The House 2024 committee includes the Congressional Republican National Committee, which is the campaign arm of the Republican Party of the House of Representatives, 20 state parties and 30 incumbent Republicans in the House, who face potentially difficult re-elections next year. The word of the committee was given first to Fox News on Friday.

Last November, 30 members won what was among the closest elections to the House of Representatives in the 2022 cycle, and the state parties represent many of the battlefields that will determine the majority in the House in 2024.

McCarthy’s political team says the speaker is already working to ensure the GOP has “the resources to fight the liberal money machine early.” Next week, the speaker will hold his first major fundraiser in the capital of the country. And aides say he is working to fully implement the Pledge to America, which was the political agenda that McCarthy and Republicans in the House of Representatives unveiled during last year’s campaign as they fought to regain a majority.
