Mavs star Luka Doncic accidentally appears on the Overwatch 2 streamer’s Twitch team

Doncic has revealed on social media that he is a big fan of Overwatch.

DALLAS. Imagine you’re playing your favorite competitive video game and an NBA superstar happens to be on your team.

Well, this actually happened to one Twitch streamer who was playing the Overwatch 2 game at the time.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic made it clear previously a huge Overwatch fan, he ended up on the team of a streamer known as “m0xyy” on Tuesday morning.

At the beginning of the match, it was not immediately clear that Doncic was on the team, as he wore the nickname “Donatello”.

It wasn’t until m0xyy tried to start a conversation with Donatello, who played the characters Reinhardt and Zari, that the team realized they were playing with an NBA superstar.

— Do you have a hobby, Donatello? m0xyy asked in voice chat.

“Yes, I play basketball,” Doncic replied.

“Oh well, do you go to the gym or play for the team?” m0xyy asked

Dallas Mavericks, Doncic said.

“Are you on the Mavericks?!” exclaimed m0xyy.

“Wait, right? May I have your autograph?” Doncic asked another JellyPeanut streamer who played on the team.

Still doubting Donatello’s real identity, m0xyy kept asking questions like his date of birth and his mother’s name. Doncic, of course, answered immediately and without hesitation.

The Mavs star even taught m0xyy a little Slovenian.

The WFAA later confirmed that the man was indeed Doncic himself.

Doncic has shown his love for Overwatch before, so it was only a matter of time before fans saw him in action.

In a video posted to his TikTok account, Doncic was asked which heroes he used the most in Overwatch.

“I’m probably playing the lead role of Roadhog, Hanzo and Cassidy. These are my three favorite characters,” Doncic said in the video.

Back in 2018 Doncic even offered his talents the Overwatch Dallas Fuel esports team, which is based in Victory Park, just steps away from the American Airlines Center.

Tuesday morning’s Overwatch matchup was just a small warm-up for the Mavs star as he and his team play the Utah Jazz at home tonight.
