Man shot dead at a gas station in East Austin: APD

A man died after a shooting at a gas station in East Austin.

The Austin Police Department responded to a Shell gas station in the 4500 block of E. MLK Jr. Boulevard just before 1:00 a.m. on January 22. The police arrived at the scene in connection with the unrest at the gas station.

Officers found a man in the car with obvious signs of injury and began rescue efforts before the ambulance arrived. However, the man, who was described as a black man in his 30s and 30s, died at the scene from gunshot wounds.

APD says detectives are actively investigating and spoke to the person of interest and witnesses in the early hours of the morning.

Police believe it was an isolated incident.
