Police identify Cherry Hill man electrocuted in early morning in Hamilton town

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (MERCER). On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Hamilton police were dispatched to 11 South Gold Drive following a report of a car fire. Upon arrival, the officers found a white aerial platform and a yellow van. The Hamilton Fire Department was already on the scene trying to put out the blaze when they noticed human remains on fire on the roof of the box truck. The deceased was identified as Dean Kitchin, 52, from Cherry Hill. Further investigation revealed that Kitchin was working on fiber optic lines in the area and was electrocuted from a live power line.

Investigators have no indication that foul play took place. The victim was taken to the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
