Lieb Rivera answered 1 simple question from Gutfeld about the AR-15 – it fails completely

A liberal journalist and gun control advocate was humiliated on national television after showing ignorance of basic gun knowledge during a gun control debate.

On Tuesday, liberal commentator Geraldo Rivera, along with his conservative colleagues, appeared on the Fox News program The Five to discuss President Joe Biden’s recent comments that “you need F-15s, not ARs” to challenge the government. -15″.

When it was his turn to speak on the matter, Rivera stated that “there is no legal basis to have an AR-15”.

But he was completely unprepared for what happened next when his co-host Greg Gutfeld asked him what the “AR” in “AR-15” meant, and Rivera replied that it meant “automatic rifle.”

Gutfeld quickly replied that “AR” did not really mean “automatic rifle”.

Gutfeld was absolutely right in pointing this out. “AR” does not mean “automatic rifle”, but “ArmaLite Rifle”. However, when Rivera later mentioned this error, he brushed it aside and reiterated that “the AR-15 has no place in American society.”

However, many Twitter users kept reminding him that “AR” really stands for “ArmaLite Rifle”.

Geraldo, the “AR” in AR-15 means “ArmaLite Rifle” and not “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle” as commonly misunderstood.

Hmmm… AR in AR-15 stands for Armalite, the company that developed this PLATFORM (AR-15 platform) was called ARMALITE. The AR-15 is VERY different from the M-16 (and other combat weapons) in that it is a RIFLE, firing only one round per trigger pull.

Rivera, like fellow liberal Beto O’Rourke, is calling for a ban on one of the country’s most popular weapons and fails to demonstrate even a basic understanding of what an AR-15 is.

This seems to be a common pattern for the left. They talk a lot about things like gun control or climate change, claiming to be experts in it. But when they are asked elementary questions about the facts of the problems, they show complete ignorance.

They also don’t seem to know that the states that put in place gun control measures have failed to stop crime, which shows us that these measures don’t really work.

The point is that if you want to talk about an important political issue, you must be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of the facts in order to be taken seriously.

Otherwise, like Rivera, you’ll just become the laughing stock of the web and no one will listen to what you have to say.
