Idaho homicide update: More Brian Kochberger documents released in Pennsylvania, knife, phone, masks seized

The Pennsylvania court printed additional documents in Idaho student murders case showing that police seized a knife during a raid on a suspect’s parents’ home in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI arrested suspect Brian Kochberger at his parents’ home in the Pocono Mountains on Dec. 30 during a tactical night raid.

They searched the house, his car, the garage and the barn on the property.

The new warrants show police seized the door panel from his car, seat cushions, head restraints, seat belt, visor, brake and gas pedals, adhesive tape, “maps and documents” and other items.

Police seized several weapons from the house, including a knife and a Glock pistol with three magazines. They took away a mobile phone, a laptop and black masks, as well as a black hat.

The list also includes a prescription, a “green leaf substance” in a container, vehicle paperwork and other documents, including a phone bill and a handwritten password, and a book “underlined on page 118”.

The 4 a.m. ambush killed 21-year-old University of Idaho students Kaley Gonsalves and Madison Mogen, their 20-year-old housemate Xana Kernodle, and her 20-year-old boyfriend Ethan Chapin.

Koberger, 28-year-old doctor of criminology. A Washington State University student at the time of the attack is accused of stabbing all four undergrads on November 13, 2022. Schools about seven miles apart.

According to previously released court documents, police found a Ka-Bar knife sheath near Mogen’s body and extracted a DNA sample from the rig.

The genetics matched a family sample taken from garbage near Kochberger’s parents’ home.

On Tuesday, additional documents confirmed that police took a buccal swab from the suspect when they arrested him on Dec. 30.

Koberger is being held at Lata County Jail. in Moscow, Idaho, without collateral. His next court date is set for Monday, June 26. He faces four charges of first-degree murder and a charge of burglary.
