Has anyone won the $1.1 billion Mega Millions jackpot?

Once again, no one has hit the jackpot, but several players across the country have won $1 million or more.

WASHINGTON — After a year of huge jackpots, lottery players are once again looking at a jackpot of more than $1 billion that continues to grow.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions winning numbers were 7-13-14-15-18 and Mega Ball 9. Megaplier was 3.

For the 25th consecutive time, there was no grand prize winner. The jackpot has been played since October 14th. The estimated jackpot for Friday’s draw is now $1.35 billion.

There are no new billionaires, but many players will make a lot of money on the million dollar Match Five option. Players from California, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and West Virginia matched the first five numbers and won a million dollars. Three more lucky players from Connecticut, Florida and New York matched five plus the Megaplier to cash out $3 million.

While the billion dollar jackpot draws the attention of players, it is an annuity prize that will pay out over 29 years. Most winners want their money right away and opt for the cash option, which is $568.7 million as of Tuesday. In addition, a portion of the winnings will go toward federal and, in some places, state taxes.

Last year saw the golden age of miniature lottery jackpots, including a record-breaking Powerball prize of over $2 billion. While the Mega Millions jackpot is half that size, it wouldn’t be surprising if it continues to rise – players face grim odds of one in 302.6 billion.
