Frisco City Council Approves Universal Theme Park Plan Despite Resident Backlash

FRISCO, Texas The city of Frisco has put forward a plan to build a universal theme park in the city.

The city has approved a 4-2 special permit to start building a theme park primarily for families with young children.

Universal has announced some commitments made to the Cobb Hill area, which is located in close proximity to the park. He will pay for a wall surrounding the area to prevent parking there.

He also said it would be helpful to improve the walking and cycling paths next to the park.

Some Frisco residents are expressing concern about the Universal theme park in their city.

The police chief also said the park’s approval would make it illegal for registered sex offenders to live nearby. He said he did not expect a significant increase in crime in the park.

However, some residents were outraged by this plan.

“I already know you’ve made up your mind. It’s a great dog and pony show,” said one resident. “They have already decided what they will vote for.”

“We are very proud of what we have to offer. We think it’s the right choice,” said John McReynolds of Universal. “We think that it will interact with the mode of transport, in every way it will be something that I think the city of Frisco will be proud of.”

The opening of the park is scheduled for 2026.
