Police: 5 dead in apparent murder-suicide in Miami Lakes

MIAMI LAKE, Fla. (AP) — South Florida police were investigating five deaths Friday that they believe were homicide-suicides.

The press release said Miami-Dade police officers responded to a Miami Lakes home on Friday morning after a relative requested a welfare check because she was unable to contact the residents.

After meeting with a relative, uniformed officers entered the house through a back window, authorities said. Inside, they found three women and two men dead with obvious gunshot wounds, officials said. One man’s injuries appeared to be self-inflicted, leading investigators to believe the case was a murder-suicide.

The police did not immediately give the names and ages of the dead, as well as the motive for the shooting.
