Dallas firefighter charged with possession of child pornography placed on furlough

The Dallas firefighter is on administrative leave after being charged with possession of child pornography, police and firefighters said.

According to Dallas Fire and Rescue Departmentdriver engineer Jesse McFall was arrested Dallas Police Department January 17 and charged with possession of child pornography, a felony in the third degree.

McFall’s arrest comes after a six-week investigation that began on December 6, 2022, when the Dallas Police Department for Internet Crime Against Children received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a file uploaded on October 20, 2022 was considered child pornography.

A Dallas investigator corroborated the materials and launched an investigation, which included filing subpoenas and search warrants for subscriber information associated with the file.

About a week later, investigators received the requested subscriber information, which included multiple files that police said identified McFall with Dallas Fire and Rescue ID, tax documents, insurance documents, and selfie photos. The information also included a woman whose name was not included in this report because she was not charged with a crime.

The contents also included several photographs of child pornography and several photographs of a man believed to be McFall, as well as photographs of a woman, police said. Police compared photos of the driver’s license with those found in the phone’s data and believed they matched those of McFall and the woman.

McFall has been with the Dallas Fire and Rescue Department since October 2011 and has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. If found guilty, McFall faces a fine of up to $10,000 and a prison sentence of two to 10 years. It is not immediately clear whether McFall hired a lawyer.
