CPS Energy will operate on overhead power lines

The works will require intermittent lane closures from March 12 to 15 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

SAN ANTONIO — CPS Energy is working to improve the quality and safety of aging transmission lines to help ensure power supply reliability in the southeast San Antonio area, off US Highway 181.

To do this, from March 12 to March 15, from 8:00 to 16:00, lanes on Highway 181 will be periodically blocked to improve the reliability of power supply.

“The Brownig to Highland Hills project includes laying new overhead electrical wires,” CPS Energy said in a statement. “Work will begin on Sunday, March 12, and will continue until Wednesday, March 15, 2023. required on U.S. Route 181 South from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day, westbound west of CPS Energy Calaveras Powerstation Road and eastbound west of Laguna Road.”

No power outages are expected in any of the projects, and traffic control will be provided for both.

You are asked to find alternative routes and, if possible, avoid areas during the project.

CPS Energy is also reminding drivers to move over or slow down in accordance with state law to ensure crew and driver safety.
