City of Deer Park updates emergency measures after tornado damages buildings and blackouts
HOUSTON – Hurricanes on Tuesday caused damage to several parts of the Houston area.
From a massive devastating tornado in Deer Park to collapses near Baytown, street flooding, heavy rains, lightning, high winds and downed trees, work is now beginning to clean up the hardest hit areas.

In Baytown, KPRC 2 reporter Bryce Newberry says Baytown fire and police departments are responding to reports of a gas leak near a structural collapse where flames erupt from the ground in front of a courtyard. He also added that the Worcester area had fallen trees and had power outages.

In southeast Houston, KPRC 2 reporter Taisha Walker saw downed trees and power lines on Kirklein Driver and Kirkholme Drive.
The roof of an apartment building at 11150 Beamer was blown off. @HoustonFire delivered three people in a non-life-threatening condition.

In Deer Park, officials confirmed that the tornado hit the area around 2:29 p.m.
City officials said they are currently assessing damage and responding to minor injuries.
The officials also added that they are in contact with the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Red Cross. Officials said public works is coordinating with CenterPoint Energy to address power outages. Public Works is also engaged in the removal of garbage from the roadway.
