NBC Bay Area Launches Streaming Channel for Morning News

NBC Bay Area News has launched a new streaming channel to deliver the latest local news, weather updates, and more to viewers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dubbed “Today in the Bay,” the live newscasts air every weekday at 7 a.m. The channel is accessible through Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Xumo Play, and NBCBayArea.com.

Although the live broadcast lasts 30 minutes, replays are available throughout the morning, starting at 8 a.m. and running until 11 a.m. unless there is breaking news or other live events.

Viewers using Roku can select the Live TV tile on their Roku TV home screen and click the left arrow button, or open the Roku Channel app and click the left arrow button to access the left-hand navigation menu. They should then select “News” from the menu and scroll down to Channel 4125, known as SF Bay Area News. Meanwhile, Samsung TV Plus users must hit the Samsung TV Plus button on their remote and hit the channel up/down button to bring up the Program Guide. They should then scroll down to Channel 1035. Xumo Play subscribers need to open the Xumo Play app on their mobile device or streaming platform and navigate to “Local News” in the Live Guide. They should then scroll down and click on “NBC Bay Area.”

Amid commercial breaks, viewers may experience a black screen, however.

For those who may need assistance in locating or favoriting NBC Bay Area on Roku, Consumer Investigator Chris Chmura helpfully explains the process.

Thanks to NBC Bay Area News’s latest innovation, locals can watch the news unfold live or at their convenience from digital devices.
