Chase suspect shot after attacking officers with a knife, Lake Jackson police say

Police said that during a chase in Brazoria County, a man rammed a stolen truck into two cars and tried to run over a police officer.

LAKE JACKSON, Texas. Jackson Lake police have shot and killed a man near Liverpool after they say he stabbed them after a chase and crash.

It all started around 10 a.m. Thursday when the LJPD got a call about a man in a trash can at OM Robert Elementary School. Before the police arrived, they said that the guy stole a truck and fled.

Police said that during a chase in Brazoria County, a man rammed a truck into two cars, including a patrol car, and also tried to run over a police officer.

DPS fighters dropped spikes near CR 192 and CR 193. Having run into them, the man lost control and fell into a ditch.

When the police approached the truck, they said the man had jumped out of it and lunged at them with a “big knife blade”. They shot at him and killed him.

The Texas Rangers and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the incident along with the LJPD.

The identity of the man has not been established.
