Casino mogul Steve Wynn lists extravagant NYC penthouse for $90M

Steve Wynn is betting big as he hopes to score a whopping $90 million for his Central Park South penthouse.

Located on the 30th and 31st floors of the Ritz-Carlton, the casino magnate shelled out $70 million in 2012 to buy the property from Millennium Partners founding partner Christopher Jeffries, according to the Real Deal.

If Wynn, 80, gets anywhere near his asking price, it would mark the priciest sale for the building.

Last year, a 6,800-square-foot, full-floor unit in the building, owned by film producer Sidney Kimmel, went into contract with an asking price of just $24.5 million.

The other two active listings there are each less than $40 million.

But Wynn’s penthouse is much larger, spanning nearly 11,000 square feet across both floors.

The duplex residence, made up of three bedrooms, boasts views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.

Designed by master architect Emery Roth, the building itself opened in 1930 as the Hotel St. Moritz before converting into a residential property.

The Hotel St. Moritz’s former ballroom is now the apartment’s expansive living room.

Accessed by a private elevator landing, the gallery entryway leads to the 44-foot-wide and 15-foot-high great room that features 10 arched windows and the largest terrace in the building, which stretches 45 feet.

Amenities include a media room, a library, a wet bar and a dining room that boasts its own 28-foot long terrace. The chef’s kitchen comes with a terraced breakfast room that also has views of Central Park, the listing notes.

Downstairs is the private quarters, accessed via a marble staircase. The primary suite features a spa-like bathroom, a dressing room, a gym and a massage room.

The other two bedrooms include ensuite baths.

“Residents also benefit from the world-class luxury services and amenities of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which include the La Prairie spa and health club, the business center, the Contour Bar and Lounge, in-room dining services, and housekeeping,” the listing notes.

Serena Boardman of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.

Meanwhile, Wynn is also trying to offload his Beverly Hills pad. He initially listed the home for $135 million, later slashing the ask to $100 million. It still remains for sale.
