Carter Center Releases Statement on Former President’s Health and ‘Hospice Care’

The Carter Center has provided an update on the health of former US President Jimmy Carter.
On Saturday, the center said in a statement: “After a series of brief hospitalizations, former US President Jimmy Carter today decided to spend the rest of his time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”
The statement continues: “He is fully supported by his family and his medical team. The Carter family asks for privacy at this time and is grateful for the care shown by his many fans.”

According to CNN, Carter survived brain cancer in 2015.
However, later in 2019, the former president went through a series of health fears and underwent brain surgery to relieve the pressure.
In 2022, Carter turned 98 years old.
