BCSO arrests man suspected of stealing Ruffles truck

Authorities say that after the truck crash, the man began to run away on foot and jump over fences in a residential area.

SAN ANTONIO. A man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of stealing a Ruffles Lays Chip truck from a Walmart in Converse, according to police.

The incident came after a Walmart store located along the 8000 FM 78 block in Converse received a report of a stolen car.

The man was identified as 27-year-old Jeff Getin, officials said.

According to the BCSO, Gethin swerved onto Cavendish Court in a truck, jumped out of the car while it was still moving, crashed into a pickup truck and then into the garage door of an apartment building.

Police say that after the truck crashed, Jetin began escaping on foot and jumping over fences in a residential area. BCCO chased him on foot and he was arrested.

Jetin was arrested for car theft and car arrest/detention evasion. He is being held at the Bexar County Jail on $30,000 bail.
