An epic weekend of events across South Florida, Treasure Coast

There is always something to do in South Florida, but this weekend seems to have more choice than usual.

WPTV.com has compiled a list of events from St. Lucie County to Miami-Dade County, from sports and entertainment to family activities.

Kinds of sports

Honda Classic in full swing at the PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens. Although this will be the last year that Honda will compete as a champion, the golf tournament has been Palm Beach County’s main event since 2003. Ticket prices vary, starting at $70. If it’s out of your price range, don’t worry. You can watch the third and fourth rounds on WPTV.

spring preparation Saturday also kicks off in the Grapefruit League with games in Port St. Lucie, Jupiter and West Palm Beach. This will be the first continuous spring training schedule since 2019.

In college sports, South Florida will host two notable basketball games.

The Florida Atlantic are trying to make history in their last home game of the 2022-23 season. If the Owls (25-3, 15-2, US Conference) beat UTEP (13-15, 6-11), not only would they get at least a fraction of the conference regular season title, but they would finish with a perfect record of 17- 0 at home. Both will be first in the program, which is in its last season of C-USA play before moving to the American Athletic Conference.

Further south in Coral Gables, the No. 13 Miami Hurricanes (23-5, 14-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) will take on Florida State (8-20, 6-11) as they try to get past the Seminoles for the first time since. 2016.

Events

Actor and comedian David Spade will host this year’s elegance pageant in Boca Raton. The charity event, now in its 16th year, showcases some of the world’s finest cars and motorcycles ever made. Held at the Boca Raton Luxury Resort Showground, the three-day event benefits Broward County Boys and Girls Clubs.

The Fort Lauderdale Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival returns for a second year at Esplanade Park. There will also be live music during the Saturday holidays, which will take place from 13:00 to 21:30.

If that’s not enough to sharpen your palate, Miami Beach hosts the South Beach Wine and Food Festival on Sunday.

For those looking to stay closer to home, WPTV is proud to sponsor the Lake Worth Beach Street Art Festival, taking place on the streets of downtown on Saturday and Sunday. The free event runs from 10:00 to 21:00 on Saturday and from 10:00 to 19:00 on Sunday. If you don’t want to fight for a parking space, you can always take the free shuttle service from Palm Beach State College and the Lake Worth Beach Tri-Rail Station.

Last but not least is the St. Lucie County Fair at Fort Pierce. It’s the first weekend of the fair and has everything from hog racing and beef breeding shows to magic acts and rodeos. Tickets are $15 at the door for adults and teens and $5 for children aged 6 to 12. Children under 5 years old are admitted free of charge.
