An 11-year-old boy was shot dead in North Dallas.

DALLAS (CBSNewsTexas.com) – An 11-year-old boy was shot dead and a woman wounded after a man opened fire at a North Dallas home early Saturday morning.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner identified the child as Jeremiah Green. According to the Dallas Police Department, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and paramedics received a call around 2:15 a.m. in the 6400 block of Royal Lane east of Preston Road, where they found two victims.

The woman was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect, Jakeith Huntley. According to police, he was located in Glenn Heights and arrested.

Huntley was charged with capital murder and was imprisoned in the Dallas County Jail.

The police refused to disclose the motives of the case and did not provide any details about the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
