NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets trade defenseman Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for players and a draft pick. Shams Charania from Athletic.
The Nets will receive Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round pick and “multiple” second-round picks.
Earlier this week Irving requested an exchange after negotiations for a possible contract extension with Brooklyn broke down.
In 2019, the Nets signed Irving to a four-year, $136 million contract.
