San Antonio residents will want to keep an eye on the weather this week, especially if you’re planning any outdoor activities for spring break.

Our next cold front will bring severe weather with hail, storms and damaging wind conditions. San Antonio residents can also expect a sharp drop in temperatures ahead of this weekend.

Here’s what you need to know:

Wednesday (max 73 and min 53): Another overcast day with a steady wind of 20-25 m/s blowing from the south. This will raise our humidity levels overnight until Thursday morning. In general, daytime temperatures will be comfortable in the low 70s to enjoy spring break outdoors.

Thursday (high 83 and low 63): The threat of severe weather begins in the afternoon, as storms can begin along the dry line. There is currently a slight risk of severe weather in San Antonio on Thursday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Weather models show that there is a chance of mostly light rain in the afternoon, with the risk of heavy rain increasing towards the late evening.

The day will be very warm in the low 80s. A perfect day to sit by the pool because the temperature will be very different for the next 24 hours. After the cold front lasts until late Thursday night, winter weather will begin to set in.

As we approach midnight Thursday, heavy hail, damaging winds and rotation cannot be ruled out with this next system. A northerly wind behind the front will also bring wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph.

St. Patrick’s Day (high 54 and low 44): And here comes the weather!

When San Antonio residents wake up on Friday morning, the temperature will be around 40 degrees. Brrr! Then by noon high temperatures will reach only the 50s.

Rain and storms can still kick in early Friday morning. Weather models show that by 9 a.m. most of the heavy rain should stop by Friday afternoon, leaving the rest of the day partly cloudy.

Weekend: When San Antonio residents wrap up their spring break weekend, don’t forget to dress warmly. Both Saturday and Sunday high temperatures will be in the 50s and morning lows in the 40s.

In addition to the cold weather on Saturday and Sunday it rains.

A sharp drop in temperature can also lead to winter mixing in areas around the Hill Country. Especially from Sunday evening to Monday morning.

Temperatures in San Antonio will climb back into the 70s by Tuesday with partly cloudy skies.
