According to a recall warning issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on February 23, more than two million Cosori fryers that were sold in the US, Canada and Mexico have been recalled due to fire and burn hazards. people should immediately stop using recalled fryers as a precaution.
The Cosori brand is owned by Vesync, based in Shenzhen, China. Vesync has received more than 200 reports of fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking of already recalled fryers. Some people have reported minor superficial burns and minor property damage after using the recalled device.
All recalled fryers have the Cosori branding on the front and were sold in black, grey, white, blue, or red. The recall applies to certain Cosori 3.7 and 5.8 quart fryer models that have the following model numbers:
The recalled fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at Best Buy, Target, and Home Depot stores nationwide, and online at Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers. They cost between $70 and $130.
