Woman waves loaded gun at McDonald’s after free cookie incident: affidavit

Police have arrested and fined a Florida woman after she allegedly waved a loaded gun at a McDonald’s restaurant after failing to receive a free cookie she thought she was due, according to an affidavit.

Amari Bente Hendrix, 24, of Altamonte Springs near Orlando, was sent to the Seminole County Jail on Feb. 16, FOX 35 reported. She faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, improper display of a firearm, beating. bodily injury and resistance to an officer, the report said.

A McDonald’s employee told police that Hendrix was furious that no one asked if she used the fast food restaurant’s rewards program and thought she was entitled to free cookies.

As the employee approached the pickup window, Hendrix allegedly screamed. She was reportedly given a free cookie but continued to argue with a staff member, the report said.

The worker told police that Hendrix then grabbed a black pistol, inserted a magazine, and began to break the bolt. The employee said she heard two clicks “associated with the fact that someone fired into the chamber.”

Hendrix then allegedly parked her car in front of a McDonald’s and attempted to open the front door, which the employees had already locked out of fear for their lives. The report states that Hendrix forced herself to enter the restaurant and then hit one of the employees several times and forced him out of the building.

The employee was found by police with numerous scratches on his face and neck.

Hendrix allegedly refused to listen to the officers’ verbal commands, resulting in him being charged with resisting arrest.
