Woman killed in three-car collision in North Austin

A woman has died in a three-vehicle collision in North Austin, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

Police said officers responded to a three-car crash at the intersection of East Anderson Lane and Cameron Road on February 21 at around 7:36 a.m.

The passenger of one of the cars, 40-year-old Asiel Fernandez, died at the scene. Two other passengers in the same car were taken to the hospital with injuries.

All drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The incident is being investigated as the 14th fatal crash in Austin in 2023, resulting in 14 deaths in a year. As of the date of this accident in 2022, there have been 12 fatal accidents resulting in 13 deaths.
