Woman accused of letting boyfriend beat her 3-year-old

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 23-year-old woman has been charged with a felony for child harm after authorities said she allowed her boyfriend to beat her 3-year-old.

Jasmine Rene Salas will next appear in court on February 17.

According to prosecutors, Salas is the child’s biological mother. According to court documents, she allowed her boyfriend to beat her child several times. She is also accused of not providing medical attention to the child’s injuries.

According to court documents, Salas watched her boyfriend beat the baby, doing nothing to stop the abuse, and continued to let her boyfriend babysit her baby for several days.

According to court documents, the beating resulted in numerous serious injuries, including a subdural hematoma, scalp burns, liver lacerations, broken ribs, lung contusions, and fluid in the lungs.
