Wildlife officers hospitalized after an accident on Interstate 95 in Martin County.

MARTIN COUNTY, Florida. Two employees of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were taken to hospital after a crash on Interstate 95 in Martin County on Thursday, authorities said.

According to an FWC spokesman, a red sedan “moving at high speed” on the highway crashed from behind into police officers who were in an unmarked FWC vehicle.

After the accident, the sedan took off, collided with another vehicle on I-95, then rolled over and caught fire in a wooded area next to the Interstate.

Two FSK employees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the sedan, whose name has not been released, was arrested for drunk driving, escape and evasion, and hit-and-run with injuries, according to the FWC.
