With a strong westerly wind, very dry air will arrive and the humidity in the western counties will fall below 20% this afternoon.

Parts of North Texas are under a red flag warning from noon until 8:00 pm. A red flag warning is used to inform the public of current weather conditions that are perfect for wildland fires.

They also extended the warning to a number of counties to the east.

Although the DFW Metroplex is not on, there is still an increased fire risk along the I-35 corridor.
