Weather in Dallas: Many school districts in North Texas will remain closed on Wednesday

Many school districts in North Texas, including ISD in Dallas and Fort Worth, will be closed for another day due to winter weather and icy roads.

ISD Arlington, Cedar Hill, Coppell, Dallas, Eagle Mountain Saginaw, Fort Worth, Grapevine Colleyville, Grande Prairie, HEB, Kaufman, Little Elm, Mansfield, Northwest and Pilot Point are among the major districts announcing that they will not own classes on Wednesdays.

Fort Worth ISD and several other school districts have made the decision to cancel classes the next day following a 1:00 pm briefing with the National Weather Service.

Almost all school districts in North Texas were closed on Tuesday due to bad weather. This included large areas such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, and Frisco.

Some major North Texas universities have also canceled classes. Texas Christian University, Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas, and the University of Texas at Dallas were completely closed. UT-Arlington has moved to distance learning with the cancellation of all in-person classes.

Areas west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex were also closed or shut down early Monday morning as a winter storm approached.

A winter storm warning remains in effect for all of North Texas until Thursday morning.

Temperatures are likely to stay below freezing until Wednesday noon in most areas, according to the FOX 4 Weather team.

On Thursday morning, precipitation continues, but by this time the temperature will be above zero.
