Weather in Dallas: Dallas’ icy streets shut down normally busy strip clubs

From school to work to running errands, so much has been put off in the last couple of days for North Texans.

Usually busy strip centers and the streets are empty.

People living in Oak Lawn and the neighboring residential area generally love to eat. But most places were closed, and popular parks were empty and covered in ice.

Pam in paradise. On Tuesday, the fluffy doodle was completely given to Cole Park in Uptown.

North Texas winter storm warning extended to Thursday, ice storm warning for some starting Wednesday

Pam’s buddy Mike Pissett doesn’t mind the cold, dull weather. He is from Scotland and is visiting his girlfriend in Dallas, also known as Pam’s mom.

“We are used to this kind of weather in Scotland,” he said. “But coming to Dallas and getting snow is very rare. I didn’t expect that.”

Uptown was effectively closed. The streets were empty, except for the occasional rescuers passing by.

A reminder of how dangerous driving conditions are due to slippery roads caused by low temperatures and precipitation.

Many school districts in North Texas, including ISDs in Dallas and Fort Worth, will remain closed on Wednesday.

Clayton and Sadhvi Douglas ventured outside at the urging of their dog.

“Go out and enjoy the snow. The dog just loves it,” Clayton said.

“She loves the snow and Dallas looks so beautiful in the snow,” Sadhvi said. “We’re enjoying it before things get slushy.”

On nearby Oak Lawn, the normally busy strip of Cedar Springs was a ghost town.

Italia Express was one of the few open businesses. Employees defy the elements so others can eat.

“People need to eat,” said Aidin Dervishevich from the restaurant. “One way or another, people have to eat.”

Many of the first orders were with delivery. But even delivery services are taking emergency security measures.

By noon, Door Dash announced that it was suspending operations in North Texas due to a winter storm.

However, the pizza ovens were firing from people arriving on foot or in cars, grateful that something had been opened.

“Honestly, we haven’t bought groceries in a long time,” said customer Taylor Baumann. “So, we thought about what we would eat? We called Italy and they said they were open. We carefully made our way here.”

In case you’re wondering, Italia Express runs until midnight.

Door Dash says it hopes to resume deliveries at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
