Weather DFW: the sun is back! Like cold temperatures…

The heavy rains have ended and the rest of the week will be mostly dry in North Texas, but temperatures will rise and fall over the weekend.

DALLAS – Well, that was exactly the kind of rain we love to see in North Texas, ha!

While the storms were noisy and the rain was heavy at times, it rained torrentially without any severe weather or wintry weather.

Such rains will only continue to help in drought conditions and add water to our local lakes.

Total rainfall

The greatest amount of rain brought by storms to North Texas was in the D-FW region to the east, where one to two inches fell in most places, and even a little more in some cases.

A few rare, isolated cases have also seen a total of three to five inches!

Rest of this week

Good news: dry weather will prevail until the end of the week. Less good news: temperatures will rise and fall.

After a cold start and some fog Thursday afternoon, there will be mostly sunny skies and highs in the 50s to 60s.

The front will then move through the region during the day, and a stronger push of cooler air will arrive on Thursday evening, leaving Friday’s temperature in the 40s.

This weekend

In general, nothing special!

Saturday morning will be cold, with a slight frost for most of them. The day looks mostly sunny and cool, with highs in the 50s.

Sunday will be slightly milder, with slightly more cloudy skies and highs around 60 degrees.

Next week

Don’t lock up those cloaks! It will probably rain again early in the week.

The exact timing, coverage, and total rainfall are not entirely known, but at the moment it looks like the best chance of rainfall is from Monday evening to Tuesday morning.

At this point, it also appears that the severe weather threat is not a major issue. This system also does not look wintery.

However, stay tuned as we refine the forecast as things get closer.
