As heavy rains sweep across California, causing flooding, landslides and massive property damage, residents are facing another worrying phenomenon: Trees are falling in massive numbers across the state.
In San Francisco, 287 trees were reported to have fallen in the first seven days of the new year, compared to 27 for all of January 2022.
So what is causing such a significant jump in tree accidents?
