Pedestrian, 82, dies weeks after BMW hit him as he crossed Queens street

An 82-year-old man died nearly three weeks after a BMW SUV struck him as he crossed a Queens street, police said Thursday.

Majer Rosenfeld, suffered head injuries in the crash on the afternoon of Dec. 9 and was rushed by medics to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens, where he died Wednesday.

The NYPD Highway Patrol investigates after Majer Rosenfeld, 82, was struck by a car on 73rd Ave. near Francis Lewis Blvd. in Queens on Dec. 9.

The 52-year-old driver who struck him was not charged, though the investigation is still ongoing.

The collision happened as the driver, heading east on 73rd Ave. near Francis Lewis Blvd. in Fresh Meadows, hit Rosenfeld, who was crossing the avenue mid-block.

Rosenfeld lived three miles away in Kew Gardens Hills.
