WATCH: UFC’s Israel Bonfim puts his opponent to sleep with a thunderous knee to the head

Until Saturday night, most of the MMA world did not know who Israel Bonfim was. Well now everyone knows.

UFC 283 didn’t even make it to the main card before the real Candidate of the Year knockout came with a knee from Contender Series star Dana White Israel Bonfim. In front of a friendly crowd at the Genuès Arena in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian phenomenon flew into the air and kneed Terrence McKinney in the head, causing him to instantly fall asleep.

Bonfim appeared to first score with a right knee, but then executed a mid-air switch and fired a left that devastated McKinney.

Three fights later, Israel’s brother Gabriel won his 13th consecutive win by guillotine-throwing Dubai’s Munir Lazzez. It’s safe to assume that there will be a party at Bonfim’s house tonight.
